Configuring Mailchimp

After you have installed the extension, you may configure it. You can find the Mailchimp settings under Theme My Login → Mailchimp.

API Key

In order to get started, you must obtain an API key from your Mailchimp account. After logging in to your Mailchimp account, click your name at the top right of the screen, and then click "Account".

On the page that follows, click "Extras" and then click "API Keys".

On the next page, under "Your API Keys", click the "Create A Key" button.

Now, copy the generated key and paste it in this setting field back on your site. After you do this, your Mailchimp lists will appear.

Collect Names

This setting controls whether you will collect names from your users or not.

• First and last name are required
  This option will add first and last name fields to your registration form and require users to fill them out.
• First and last name are optional
  This option will add first and last name fields to your registration form and users can optionally fill them out, though they will not be required.
• Do not collect names
  This option will not add any new fields to your registration form.

Lists

This section lists all of your Mailchimp lists, once you have added your API key and saved the settings. Each of your lists will be presented as a meta box with its own options.

Registration

This setting determines if and how users will be added to this list upon registration.

• Automatically add new users to this list
  This option will automatically add users to this list upon registration, with no opt-in on the form required.
• Add opt-in checkbox to registration form
  This option will present a checkbox on your registration form which the user must check to be added to this list.
• Do not use this list
  This option will exclude this list from being used at all.
